At Sand Creek Roasts, we categorize our coffees into three roast levels: Light, Medium, and Dark. These terms can vary across the coffee industry, but here’s how we define them:

  • Light Roast: Beans are roasted until the first crack ends or just after. This roast highlights bright, fruity, and floral flavors.
  • Medium Roast: Roasting continues past the first crack to develop rich, balanced flavors. The beans are removed just before the second crack starts.
  • Dark Roast: Beans are roasted into the second crack, creating bold, smoky, and robust profiles.
